"Ain't that Modena effing sweet?"
NASA Texas hosted a DE/lapping/race event at Texas World Speedway this Saturday. Due to the TexacoGP CART race in Houston, the inevitable happened and we were forced to run the TWS 1.8 mile configuration. This configuration skips the back straight, sending you from turn 3 to turn left into a little rattlesnake type turn that leads into the carousel.
Like last time, I was the only Supra in attendance.. I tried to get few more Supras to come too but scheduling scheduling conflicts, blah blah... The sessions were still pretty damn fun learning the new course. The most fun sessions were racing Curt's 996 Turbo and Ed's 360 Modena Challenge. Curt and I had a little challenge going, so he and I would often wait for the other in the pits so as to chase the other when they came around. It was some fun racing and I'm proud to say I came out ahead, albeit not by much. Now as for Ed and his Modena Challenge, that thing put a hurt on me on the straight. As you can see in the Video 6 on Chris' page, Ed just takes off on the main straight and walks away from me and around the silver Rx7 with upgraded turbos. I really need that single turbo... :-)
Ed, thanks for letting me sit in the Modena!!! I wish there was a passenger seat, I want a ride in that thing. :-)
